Mr Vik Vijh, plastic surgeon to the stars, specialises in and performs cosmetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery. Mr Vijh is Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Clinical Lead at the NHS Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Birmingham covering the City of Birmingham and the West Midlands region including Herefordshire.  Vik Vijh is often considered as one of the best plastic surgeons in the World.

Mr Vijh is also the Managing Director for The Beauty Gurus and Editor in Chief of thebodybible.org. His previous private surgery positions include being Managing Director of Cosmetic Surgery for a group of 42 UK private hospitals as well as Managing Director of the West Midlands Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship.

In his private practice, Mr Vijh serves his “local” communities of Birmingham, Hereford, Worcester and Malvern as well as welcoming patients from all over the UK including London.

He frequently features on national and regional TV news and is a regular on a host of radio shows as his expertise and opinion is much sought after by the media and of course, patients alike.

“10 Years Younger”; “Extreme Makeover”; “You Are What You Eat”; “How Long Have You Got”; “Pineapple Studios” and “Extreme Male Beauty” are some of the TV programmes he has featured in and he is presently filming a new TV show set to air in Autumn 2012. He is also asked to write for many journals and magazines and has also feature written for a national newspaper.

Mr Vijh received his training in London and passed the Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) examination in 1988. After a formal training programme in general surgery, he achieved the distinction of becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of both England and Edinburgh in 1992.

 

Mr Vijh began his career in plastic surgery with a two-and-a-half-year period of research into wound healing and scar management. Following this, he worked as a plastic surgeon throughout London NHS hospitals as part of a formal and intensive training programme. This programme was interrupted for six months when Mr Vijh undertook a formal cosmetic surgery Fellowship to enhance and augment his skills, and complete his training as a reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgeon. This culminated in his induction as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery in September 2002.

Mr Vik Vijh was appointed to the position of Consultant Plastic Surgeon in the National Health Service (NHS) in 2002. He then went on a six-month travelling Fellowship and visited some of the most accomplished plastic surgeons around the world to enahance and fine-tune his surgical skills even further.

In his current NHS position as Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Clinical Lead at the University Hospital of Birmingham, Mr Vijh specialises in breast surgery including reconstructive breast surgery, as well as skin cancer surgery and general plastic surgery. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is the Centre for Defence Medicine and Mr Vijh looks after the soldiers who have been injured in conflicts around the world.

In addition, Mr Vijh is heavily involved in the training of reconstructive and cosmetic surgeons and lectures at international meetings on the subject of cosmetic surgery.

Consultant Plastic, Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgeon

Mr Darren Lewis is a fully accredited NHS Consultant Plastic Surgeon and is listed on the General Medical Council’s specialist register for plastic surgery.

He is widely experienced in all aspects of general plastic surgery procedures, especially in breast surgery, reconstructive surgery, burn care, general skin surgery including skin cancers, and body contouring after massive weight loss. He is a member of the skin cancer multidisciplinary team (MDT) at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.

In his private practice, Mr Lewis covers the region of the West Midlands especially Worcester, Wolverhampton, Solihull and Birmingham where he specialises in body contouring surgery, cosmetic breast surgery, skin lesion removal(including skin cancers) and scar revision.

Mr Lewis began his surgical career in Stoke-on-Trent before moving to Newcastle upon Tyne to complete his Higher Surgical Training in Plastic Surgery, obtaining the FRCS fellowship qualification in surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. During his time at Newcastle, Mr Lewis developed a sub-specialist interest in Burn Care and began his research into ways of improving outcomes for burns victims. This culminated in a post-graduate Fellowship at the prestigious Western Australia Burns Service. His current research interests include tissue engineering, cell culture technology and looking at ways of improving scarring outcomes.

Mr Lewis is actively involved in training plastic surgery registrars and examines on the West Midlands Advanced Plastic Surgery Course. He is also a Module Director on the Warwick University MSc Health Sciences (Plastic Surgery) degree programme.
