An element of plastic surgery that is becoming ever more important in the process is the importance of assessing patients, from not just a physical perspective but also from a psychological perspective.
Addiction to surgery does exist
But as responsible surgeons we have to know when to tell the patient to stop. We do this more often than you might think. It is always, always in the best interests of the patient. The patient in this article has clearly not been to us!!
It is of course possible to have multiple procedures. It is of course possible to make improvements to your look over a lengthy period of time. We regularly see patients we have treated before, and as long as their reasons for more surgery remain sound, they understand the risks and they are healthy, we will perform surgery.
Plastic surgery is a regulated industry with doctors being required to be on the GMC register.
However, we have long believed the regulations do not go far enough, and often very poorly qualfiied and inexperienced surgeons can perform often complex proceedures perfectly legally. However, legally allowed does not reflect ability or training.
All Beauty Gurus surgeons are on the specialist register for plastic surgery.
All Beauty Gurus surgeons are members of BAAPS or BAPRAS or both. All of our surgeons are fully qualified and have achieved the recognised FRCS Plast qualification. All Beauty Gurus surgeons have held or do hold a substantive NHS consultant post.
