The Beauty Gurus read this article with some interest and some fears. As we see regularly in our clinics, patients are looking to broader and less obvious ways to improve their looks and the way they feel about themselves. However, some procedures are much more difficult to perform that others. Some procedures are less common and thus it is more likely that the surgeon performing the operation will not have the necessary experience to predict an outcome or even to get a satisfactory outcome for the patient.
On the recent tv programme Extreme Beauty Disasters, Mr Vijh consulted a patient that had silicone gel injected into her buttocks in an attempt to give her a more rounded and fuller behind. The result was disastrous. “It was so bad, that once we had scanned this poor lady, we realised there was nothing that we could do safely to help this patient. She was devastated as were we.” explains Mr Vijh. The patient had gone to a clinic that had subsequently disappeared when she returned.
We stress this time and time again but this programme highlights the essential reasons for using a reputable surgeon. DO NOT see sales people. Their job is to sell surgery. They are not qualified to say if you are suitable for surgery. A good surgeon will always put the health and well being of the patient first. No exceptions.
Please, come and see us at one of our clinics which we hold throughout the West Midlands, Birmingham, London, Hereford and Worcester. You can see Mr Vijh on Thursdays on TLC at 8pm on channel 125 . Alternatively, contact us on 0121 794 2369 or via The Beauty Gurus website.
