What a terrible experience for this lady in this article.. I think many of us have seen her on adverts for The Hospital Group. We would like to say that at The Beauty Gurus, we have NEVER had such an occurrence since the company was formed.
In part two of our look at this article, we look at what sets us apart from other cosmetic providers. Towards the end of the article, there are a few facts. One such fact is as follows..” The vast majority of cosmetic surgery is carried out in the private sector and the law currently allows any qualified doctor – surgeon or otherwise – to perform cosmetic surgery without undertaking further training or gaining additional qualifications.”
The article raises several notions that we do not completely agree with and some that we need to state our feelings on. First, no-one should feel pressurised into surgery. It is our job as responsible surgeons to ensure this does not happen. This is why counselling is a very important part of the process, as is a comprehensive consultation period with the surgeon.
The Beauty Gurus were invited as the sole cosmetic surgery provider for exposure in the Bullring Shopping Centre.
The points we would raise regarding this article are to always choose a UK registered plastic surgeon who is a member of BAAPS and/or BAPRAS . Our surgeons at The Beauty Gurus, hold the qualification of FRCS (plast) which is a level of qualification admired round the world.
The General Medical Council has produced the guidance to make surgical and non-surgical procedures, such as facelifts, breast implants, dermal fillers and Botox, safer. Guidlines that we at The Beauty Gurus already follow
We do agree that looking ten years younger is not necessarily the way to go as reported in the article. A good surgeon can achieve this and give the patient a very natural look, but we do feel that a realistic expectation of what can be achieved is the better approach.
In the latest show, Mr Vijh uses a relatively new technique to fix a patients face. Fat transfer uses the patients own body fat to “pad out” or fill areas of the body, often the face. The massive advantage of this procedure is that there is no chance of rejection by the body due to the use of its own fat. Mr Vijh was one of the pioneering surgeons in this country for this procedure. “It’s a technique I’ve used many times now over the past few years”, explains Mr Vijh, “It’s also got the added advantage of a bit of positive body shaping to the areas where the fat is taken from!”.
We noted this story with real concern. For any patient to have their life ruined by surgery is intensely sad. The field of cosmetic surgery is intended to do good for people…for their health and for their well being. Several points come out of cases like this.
