Well, there’s nothing like a balanced article! Everyone seems to have an opinion on cosmetic surgery. Unfortunately, many people only ever see the downsides. They see the extreme end of cosmetic surgery where some surgeons will do anything for a patient, even if it not ethical, necessary or justified. They fail to see the positives of the work done by plastic surgeons up and down the country. Many of the soldiers so tragically injured in recent conflicts round the globe are brought back to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham, where our own Mr Vijh does a huge amount of NHS work as the recent clinical lead surgeon.

In private practice, if we thought our results would be (quote taken from article referenced)…..

“ski-jump tiny noses, unnaturally pert boobs, jumbo lips, immobile faces and production line features which render the recipient more mannequin than human”, 

….then we would not be operating. To the contrary of the numbers quoted in this article, we certainly have not seen a 9% fall in patient numbers over the past year. Quite the opposite. This can only mean that patients are going more and more to reputable surgeons such as The Beauty Gurus’s Mr Vijh. This we applaud. We do wish , however, that a more balanced view of plastic and reconstructive surgery would be portrayed by the media in some areas.
