At The Beauty Gurus we see many potential liposuction patients in Birmingham, Hereford, Worcester and the surrounding areas. We agree with much of the article linked in this blog. We would go further and stress that this procedure should not under any circumstances be seen as a weight loss process.
Liposuction, or possibly more accurately, liposculpture, is a way of refining specific areas on the body that prove difficult to shift after diet, exercise or through our natural body shapes. What is very important is technique and experience.
Over the past few years many new techniques have come onto the market. They differ a great deal in their effectiveness and style. Do not be wowed by fancy machines with fancy names. What matters is does your surgeon have an artistic eye.
Up to fifty percent of our practice is fixing surgeries done by surgeons who think cosmetic surgery is easy and get it wrong. It requires the ultimate combination of art and science, a failure to achieve this always gives a poor result.
What is essential for you to check as a patient is two fold. First, does your surgeon have the best qualifications possible. These would be, in our opinion the full FRCS (plast) post graduate qualification. Secondly, does your surgeon have a good number of patients he or she has done with this technique? We would recommend at least 50 to give a positive answer to this. Remember to ask to see some before and after pictures.
Any procedure is a big step for a patient. At The Beauty Gurus we understand that. Come and chat to us about any aspect of cosmetic surgery at our clinics in Birmingham, Hereford or Worcester.
