Firstly lets understand what a Millennial is before we go any further – A Millennial is a person reaching young adulthood around the year 2000, so were talking the younger generations born in the early 80’s.

Millennials aren’t shy about plastic surgery on Instagram

Were also talking of a generation who have never known adult life without mobile phones and social media. It is because of this dawn of innovation that it is perfectly normal to catalogue life in images rather than words using Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms. An image of a lady with the most ‘on fleek’ eyebrows for example, a perfectly nailed ‘smoky eye’ or the body of all envy can quite easily go viral and so what once began as an innocently shared picture can end up being seen by thousands even millions, in fact it can sometimes arrive in my consultation room in the hands of a patient wanting to achieve that same look.

It is also now seen as perfectly acceptable to talk about how a look has been achieved, whether its clever contouring, a cupid bow created with dermal filler or a cleavage resulted from a perfectly placed breast implant.

We live in a world where social media plays a big part of our existence and in fact one that helps us Surgeons and Aestheticians visualise the end result a patient wants to achieve, something that was much less easy in years gone by.

If you are considering a Cosmetic procedure and would like to arrange a consultation, we hold clinics in Birmingham and The Midlands. For more information you can visit our website or call 0800 612 5919 to make an appointment.
